Mugegawa folklore museum、関市武芸川民俗資料館

The museum is in Gifu prefecture (central Japan). The rebuilt building imitates a typical farmer’s house in the early 20^th century (How large it is!). We can feel the life back then.

岐阜県関市武芸川地区の戦前の標準的な農家を再現した建物です。この建物が標準的とは。農民の家は大きいですね。戦前の暮らしを実感できます。

The floor plan is shown above. I took photos below from (1) and (2).

①と②から写真を撮りました。

(1) The living room is in front; the guest room which has a Buddhist altar is in behind.

①、手前が台所（居間）、奥が座敷です。仏壇があります。

(2) The view of the dining room and the kitchen from the bedroom.

②、納戸から見たお勝手と奥庭です。竈があって台所ですね。

The kitchen is an earthen floor, which has a cooking stove (kamado).

奥庭は土間です。

We can open the cupboard; it’s rally visitor-friendly.

食器棚は、開けてもOKです。オープンな展示ですね。

Old utensils are set in the barn.

納屋には民具が展示されています。

A tube television and a VHS (Video Home System) cassette recorder are also exhibited. The Showa period (1926-1989) when I was born and raised has gone.

ブラウン管テレビやVHSビデオデッキも展示品になっていました。昭和は遠くなりにけりです。

There is a rice field behind the museum. The rice planting finished; herons looked for insect and tiny fish. It’s a peaceful scenery.

資料館の裏の田んぼは田植えがすみ、サギが虫や小魚を探していました。平和な風景ですね。

The pond above is in front of Nemichi shrine which is less than a one-hour drive away.

車で一時間弱離れた根道神社の門前にある有名な池です。

It is very famous because someone said the pond looked like “Monet's The Water Lilies” pond. How do you think? There was a tourist bus when I visited.

モネが描く睡蓮の絵のような池といわれていますが、いかがでしょうか。観光バスも来ていました。

Life in Edo, old Tokyo (published in 1959) 江戸生活事典

Very good : ★★★ (this is a long and interesting page) Various entertainments at Edo or old Tokyo in the Edo period are written in this book. I found a lot of fun here. I focus on the fun of common people, so I put aside the fun of Daimyo loads , samurais and rich merchants in this book. In terms of people’s fun, Edo was the paradise definitely. There were a lot of funs in day time and night time. Edo attracted people especially from the country side. I started from my favorite chapter. 　三田村鳶魚（えんぎょ）の著作を事典にしたもの。江戸の生活の様々な楽しみが書かれていて、発見が多い。ここでは庶民の楽しみにフォーカスし、大名、武士、大店の主の楽しみは拾わなかった。　人の楽しみの面からみると、まさに、江戸はパラダイス。昼も夜も出会いも、いろいろなものがあって、人を地方からも引き付ける。気に入った章別にピックアップしていく。 Edo or old Tokyo was very busy city, 熈代勝覧＠三越前 Chapter 7: Daily lives、風俗概要 (1) Seasonal recreation、遊楽 Seasonal recreations are written at first. The Great Yoshiwara (published in 2018)　吉原はスゴイ

吉原はスゴイ‐江戸文化を育んだ魅惑の遊郭（堀口茉純、 2018 ）人の楽しみの発見度： Excellent ★★★ This book is written about an authorized red-light district Yoshiwara which was in Edo (old name of Tokyo). There are many pictures in this book and you can understand all about Yoshiwara by this small book. The author is a pretty actress who is devoted to Japanese history especially Edo city (https://hoollii.com/). She tries to depict the contribution of Yoshiwara to foster Edo culture. 江戸・明治の性愛の楽しみ

性愛については、赤裸々に書き残す人は少なく、隠語で書かれていることが多いといいます。そりゃそうですよね。でも、いくつかの本には、江戸・明治の人々が性愛をどのように楽しんでいたかが書かれています。私が読んだのはほんの数冊ですが、その中から紹介します。ここでは、ビジネスとしての性愛や同性愛ではなく、日常の男女間の性愛を対象にします。人間に欠かせない楽しみですもんね。ところで、今回は、英文を作れませんでした。私の英語力ではとても対応できない内容なので、英文作成に協力していただけるようでしたら、ぜひ、お声かけ下さい。（ This article “Fun of the eros （性愛） ” is written only in Japanese , because it is too difficult for me to write in English due to lack of vocabulary about eros. Hakusan-Heisenji Shrine and History Hall Mahoroba、平泉寺白山神社と歴史探遊館「まほろば」

Heisenji (Fukui prefecture, central Japan) was established in 717 as a gateway to the worshipped mountain “Hakusan” . There were six thousands of priest dwellings in its primetime in the medieval era; it was also a warring group which had priest soldiers. However, it is a calm and sacred place now. About “Mahoroba”, I submitted an application for photography and uploaded photos. 平泉寺（福井県勝山市）は、 717 年に信仰の山・白山への登山口として開かれました。戦国時代には六千の坊院が建ちましたが、 1868 年の神仏分離令を受け、白山神社と改めました。御師が信者を募るのではなく、荘園や寺領からの初穂米などで経営されてきたようです。僧兵を擁した戦闘的な集団でもありましたが、今は静かで、神聖な空気が漂います。なお、「まほろば」は許可を申請し、写真を撮影し掲載しました。 Hakusan-Heisenji Shrine 、平泉寺白山神社 I went up the stairs to the shrine . I focus on the Edo period here. Various enjoyments are exhibited such as festivals, theaters, reading and red light district Yoshihara, meanwhile difficulties in life are also exhibited. 江戸、東京の全てが分かる巨大博物館である。ここでは、江戸時代を中心に記載した。人の楽しみの面からみると、読書、縁日、芝居、吉原などの人の楽しみ、また、苦しみも詰まっている。 Inside the entrance gate, there is a full-scale model of Nihonbashi Bridge. On the other side of the bridge, samurai’s life is exhibited.
