Ono is a beautiful castle city in Fukui prefecture, central Japan. It's on the highway from long ago, and is also on the way to Mt. Hakusan , which is known as a place for mountain worship. I applied for permission of photography, and took photos in the presence of a member of the staff. 福井県大野市は、越前の福井市と飛騨の郡上市・美濃市を結ぶ越前美濃街道にあり、越前大野城を有する城下町 です。 山岳信仰の御神体である白山への登山ルート でもあります。 許可を申請し、職員さんの立会いのもと撮影し、写真を掲載しました。 Many castles were built along the highway which has linked Fukui prefecture and Gifu pref. Ono is a strategic place. 越前美濃街道の周辺には、多くの城が築かれました 。大野は要衝の地です。 The first exhibition room 、第一展示室 Although Ono is in a mountainous area, Ono- han (local government in the Edo period ,1603 ~ 1868 ) built a ship, and tried to trade with Hokkaido (northern region of Japan). The ship named “Ono-maru” (44m long) was built in 1858. It was engaged as a liner between Fukui and Hokkaido; the han established its store in Hokkaido. The ship worked until 1864 when it sank while going to Etorof
