Fun of Good Old Japanese - 江戸・明治に学ぶ　楽しむ生き方

Adachi is one of 23 wards of Tokyo, which is in the eastern part of it. It is a residential area, but it had rich fields until 1950s. It is close to the central Tokyo, so particular agriculture to supply fresh crops to the biggest city had developed. The exhibits show us how people have lived there well. 東京都の東にある足立区は、昭和 30 年代までは、水田や農地が広がる地域でした。もちろん、今は住宅がたくさん建っています。 日光道中の一つ目の宿場町、北千住の北側に広がる足立区は、都心に近く、独特の農業が発達しました。人々の生活が良く分かる展示でした。 The huge museum has a Japanese-style garden behind it. 巨大な博物館です。奥には日本庭園があります。 The statue of the farmers is named “Loving our home town” . It was probably a good time. Asukayama in Tokyo is famous for sakura (cherry blossoms) . The 8 th generation shogun “Tokugawa Yoshimune” developed the hill as a sakura park and opened to the public. The shogun’s idea brought the enjoyable place to people. I submitted an application form in order to take photos when I visited. 東京の桜の名所・飛鳥山 にある博物館です。 飛鳥山は、八代将軍・徳川吉宗が遊園として開発し、桜を植え、庶民に開放しました 。知りませんでした。当時は公園という概念がない時代。寛永寺の境内だった上野と違い、無礼講で楽しめる場所でした。明治 6 （ 1873 ）年、公園が制定されると、第一号公園の一つとなりました。吉宗の計らいが、人々に多くの楽しみをもたらしました。訪問時に、写真撮影の申請書を提出しました。 Huge museum 、巨大な博物館です。 Proceeded to the permanent exhibition room through the passage above.  常設展示室へ進みます。 The section above is about the  Edo period  (1603 ～ 1868). There is a  sakura  tree and  bento  lunchboxes in center. まずは、江戸時代から紹介します。中央に桜、その下にお弁当が展示されています。 Asuka Shrine in Wakayama、阿須賀神社（和歌山県新宮市） The history of Asukayama is shown here. The shogun loved the hill because it is related to his home town (Wakayama prefecture in western Japan).  He planted 270 of  sakura  trees in 1720

The museum is at Mukoujima in Sumida ward, which is near Asakusa in Tokyo. The area beside the Sumida River developed into a resort area after the shogunate was established in Tokyo in 1603. Many people go there even until now to see sakura cherry blossoms in spring . The special exhibition “Sakura at the levee of the Sumida River” was held when I visited last year. 浅草から東へ進んで言問橋を越えたところにある資料館です。 向島を中心に墨田区の歴史と文化を紹介 しています。 墨田区では、 江戸時代以降、隅田川がリゾート地に成長していき、今でも多くの人が行楽を楽しんでいます 。一年前ですが、 企画展の「隅田川堤の桜」 （ 2022 年 2 月 19 日～ 5 月 15 日）を目当てに訪問しました。 The history of Sumida ward is introduced on the 1st floor.  A handsome noble in the 9 th  century “Arihara no Narihira”, who was also an excellent poet, made a well-known poem ; it was a feeling to his lover in Kyoto which is far away from Sumida.  He asked the local bird  whether she was alive or not.
