It was a peaceful time, so people enjoyed traveling . The book is a kind of trip guides which focuses on things to be careful about. It points out lots of things from outfits to inns.   I highlight topics which show us how they traveled and enjoyed .  Fujikawa is located in Aichi Prefecture in central Japan. It was a small post town on Toukaidou (highway) which linked Tokyo and Kyoto. There were 300 houses which included 36 inns; the length of the town was around one kilometer. Although it’s a calm town now, we can feel the atmosphere of the long old highway.  愛知県岡崎市にある 旧東海道の宿場町 です。町並みが約 1 ｋｍ、旅籠 36 軒、総戸数 300 軒の小規模な宿場でした。今は、静かな町ですが、どこまでも続きそうな道が東海道の雰囲気を残しています。  The museum gate, which was built in the  Edo period  (1603 ～ 1868), faces the highway. It was a site of Waki-Honjin in which elites stayed such as lords.  旧東海道に面して資料館の門があります。脇本陣の跡です。江戸時代に作られた門だそうです。 You can find a small museum building after going through the gate. 門をくぐれば、小さな資料館があります。 The photo above is an exhibition room. There is no staff. 館内はコンパクト。無人です。  There is a  model of the post town in the Edo period .
