  Tone River is the second longest river in Japan (322km), and it often caused floods. This museum shows us the lives beside Tone River. It is the event of Bon ritual which welcomes the spirits of ancestors. People make a big straw snake and walk around the village. Ancestors ride on it and back to their houses. Tone River presents fishes to people. They fished by simple method; set small boats and sank fishing nets between the boats, and just waited.   This museum is located in the center of Tokyo called Nihonbashi. It is at the 7 th floor of the Mitsui main building. Mitsui Echigo-ya, which was an original of Mitsui group, was there in the Edo period . It changed to Mitsukoshi department store in 1928. The model of Echigo-ya 、越後屋の模型 ＠ Edo-Tokyo Museum 江戸東京博物館 Part1 　 東京日本橋、三井高利が始めた越後屋があった場所に立つ三井本館にある三井記念美術館。今は、三井不動産など関連企業が入るし、お隣は越後屋の後継、三越百貨店である。 There is no permanent exhibition, only special exhibition is held. You need to check what exhibition is held before you go.   Ichikawa city is east of Tokyo and faces Tokyo Bay. This museum shows the life at the coast (salt and sea weed producing) and the life of the plateau (rice and pear farming), which are apparent from exhibits. It also shows us the land and water way to Tokyo and various kind of footgear, those are interesting. There is another city museum which shows exhibits before the 12 th century next to this museum.  In the pursuit of knowing the fun of old days, the annual events during the rice farming and also local toys showed me the answer. History and folklore museum 、歴史博物館 The coastal life exhibition area near the entrance 海辺の暮らしのコーナーから始まる 　 千葉県市川市は東京の東隣りに在り、東京湾に面している。この博物館では、海辺の生活として塩づくりや海苔づくり、台地の生活として梨づくり、米作りが民具とともに展示されており、良く分かるようになっている。また、江戸への陸路と水路を展示したコーナーもありなかなか楽しい。この博物館では、鎌倉時代以降の展示、近所にある市立市川考古博物館では、平安時代以前の展示がされている。 　地域博物館としては、とても良く、昔の暮らし、労働の様子が良く分かる。ただ、人の楽しみの面からみると、米作りの年中行事のコーナーと一部の郷土玩具の展示にとどまった。 The life at the coast 海辺の暮らし   Old salt m...

Kamagaya city is east of Tokyo, and there were horse stock farms in this region. 千葉県鎌ケ谷市は東京の東、内陸部にある。かつて、幕府直轄牧場があった。 Ancient times 古代 Entrance 、エントランス It is a small but a good museum. The admission was free when I visited, 無料だったが、きっちりと展示されている。 Excavated things in Nakazawa village 中塚貝塚からの出土品 Cute earthen doll and earthenware 何とも愛くるしい土偶と人面土器 Horse stock farms 軍用馬の放牧場 The facility to catch horses 、野馬捕り込めの施設 The shogunate placed farms in this area. In Koganemaki stock farms, there were 1,000 horses. The shogunate caught horses once a year, and they were sorted into two kinds. One was for military use, another one was for selling to people.
