She shows the role and daily life of the village head clearly.   The village head who lived in a river island in central Japan wrote the diary.  He was busy with his official affairs, however, he enjoyed ikebana flower arrangement, growing of chrysanthemums, creating haiku short poems and traveling.   Moreover, he enjoyed exchange with hobby pals and colleagues (other village heads), and he enjoyed drinking . Although he didn’t have material wealth like us, he enjoyed his life enough. The author made clear his holistic and actual life. Informative book!
