Shouno post town, which started its operation in 1624, was the one of latest ones on Toukaidou highway which linked Kyoto and Edo (old name of Tokyo). Unfortunately, it was not the road to go to Ise shrine which was the most popular pilgrim destination, so there were not many people who went through this town. This small museum shows us such as a historical document of Honjin inn, old outfits and a bulletin board. Sorry to say, photography is prohibited, however the staff guide me kindly.
